My Collegiate Life
On Wednesday it was so warm here. It reached 70 degrees at one point in the day! As I stood outside to brainstorm outdoor activities so my skin could benefit from some Vitamin D, I realized something.
all i really wanted to do was drive my car to byu and walk into larry miller field and watch byu play baseball. but alas, byu is a 20 hour drive from my apartment.
So... I have two trips coming up to solve the problem.
Trip #1 - Wichita, Kansas
Sunday I will drive to KC and stay overnight. Monday will make the 3 hour trek to Wichita (home of the shockers)
Weather is looking promising - forecast is a warm 64 degrees for both Monday and Tuesday!
i look forward to seeing the team play in person and enjoy some good sun.
BUT... it's still not miller field
So... Trip #2 (99% set in stone)
Provo, Utah! i never thought i would be so excited to go to provo. and i thought i would be able to live without byu baseball for one season because i have the freakin st louis cardinals out here! but the season hasn't started out here and i am dying...
So mark your calendars for March 12-15th. i will be at the thursday, friday and saturday games. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
and i'll eat at gurus, and cafe rio, and five guys, and joe vera's, and zupas. mmm!!!!
So if you want to see me, i will be at those places or the stadium. and maybe her aparment.
BUT i WILL cancel the trip if the weather isn't at least 50 degrees, but i would appreciate 60 or 70 degrees.
i can't wait to go! thanks to mom for donating some southwest credit! :)

Save the Date
Many years ago (well actually only 3) I was interested in a certain member of the opposite sex. After leaving a voicemail with the said boy and not hearing from him for at least 24 hours I, like most people in my situation would, got a little nervous that his name wouldn’t be flashing on my phone anytime soon.
I have always been a firm believer in making a wish when you see a digital clock read 11:11. But I had never had a wish granted, and so quickly, as this one summer evening. At 11:11 pm I wished that said boy would call me back. No sooner than 11:13 I hear my phone ring and look to see that he is calling.
Since then I believe so much that wishes can be granted.
But there are some rules:
1. You can’t wish on too many things. No 11:11 wishes, eyelash wishes, fountain wishes and so on. You have to pick one thing and stick with it.
2. No sitting around waiting for 11:11 to show up on the clock.
3. And no pointless wishes. You have to really want it to happen. Many times I have happened upon the lucky time on the clock and have not been able to think of a wish good enough. So I let the clock slowly tick to 11:12…
I recently told a good friend that I love making 11:11 wishes and told him that I love it so much that I want to get married on 11.11.11. (Even though that would only make me 26 years old, and I have always said 27, no younger.)
But said friend told me that if I were to get married on that day, he would and I quote “i would think you're the coolest person on the planet if you got married on 11/11/11. just for the record.”
So people, SAVE November 11, 2011. I’ll work on the groom.

I Love Love
Logging tape = horrible, tedious, boring
Well usually I grudgingly do it and speed through the process to get back to more important things like internet surfing and keeping up on Law & Order: SVU. just kidding...
Unless I get to look at this beautiful face and listen to what he has to say.
I have officially found a new love in the world of major league baseball. So let's all root for David Freese to become the Cardinals third baseman in the absence of Troy Glaus. And then when Glaus gets better, they will take Freese over him because Glaus is old and should be gone anyway...
#1 Goal while I am out here in St. Louis: Freese must know who I am

25 Things
My major requires 3 semesters plus an internship to complete. By the time I graduate I will have been in school for over 5 years. I love being at BYU. I am considering extending my college career to another semester. I am in no hurry to get out into the "real world."
For my 22nd birthday I had a Rob & Big birthday cake. I found a bakery that put pictures on cakes and I took them a photoshopped one of me with Rob & Big. Everyone loved it. Even Rob himself! Yes. My cousin saw him in Vegas a few weeks later and went up to talk to him. She had the picture of the cake on her phone and showed it to him. He loved it and told her to tell me happy birthday from him. One of the happiest days of my life.
In high school I traveled to nationals in St Louis for get this… Racquetball. For 3 years I was way into the sport and was on the team in high school. We were really good and won lots of awards. I can show you my medals sometime if you'd like.
I am seriously in love with cupcakes. I have been on a Sprinkles Cupcake fix ever since my cousin, Reshea, introduced them to me 2 years ago in Newport. They are divine! I would do anything to have them at my fingertips on a daily basis. But unfortunately they are not. And I have to plan special trips for them. Like when I went to San Diego last week I rented a car so I could easily get around and so I could drive the hour up to Newport and get a cupcake. MMM!!
I want to be in a plane crash. One that no one gets hurt, but that we have to use the slide to get out of the plane. Ever since I was a little kid I would pray that my plane would crash. Every time there is turbulence I think that we are going to crash. I want to use the slide so bad!
Last year I won an award that I am very proud of. I was the director for the broadcast that was named best student newscast by the Broadcast Education Association. We went to Vegas to accept the award. I gave a speech. It went something like this: "Our news director was quoted in the paper saying that winning this award was like winning the national championship trophy in college basketball. Well I wouldn't go that far, but this really is an honor." That broke the ice and prompted a professor at KU (the NCAA champions that year) to come talk to me. He gave me his card and told me to contact him anytime I needed a job or internship. He has connections with the Cardinals. It seems humor CAN get you places in life.
I was secretly (now publicly) happy that BYU Daily News didn't win that award again this year, because they didn't hire me to be a director. It just makes me feel that they NEED me to be good. But I do know it's not just me, its all the good anchors, producers and reporters that we had in the past.
I sleep with a stuffed animal every night. It's Fredbird. The Cardinals Mascot. It's from Build-A-Bear. But not just any BAB, this bird can only be purchased at the BAB located in Busch Stadium. One of the highlights of my last Cardinals trip with my dad last summer. The other highlight: my Cardinals kicks.
I frequently get dizzy and lightheaded on an elevator. Ever since my senior year of high school when I had temporary asthma and used an inhaler, the thought of riding a rollercoaster just makes my head spin. Well now it's going up or down too many flights in an elevator.
I love Sex and the City – when the movie came out I think I watched it 11 times in a 7-day period. I <3>
I tend to make a yearly trip to the ER ever since I came out to Provo. The first year was when I had a bad case of Bronchitis. I was having trouble breathing because my throat was swelling up and nothing we could do would help, so we went to the ER. Next year was when I had an abscess tooth that was causing excruciating pain. I got a nice little shot of morphine to help me sleep through the night. Another year was my emergency appendix removal. That was fun. That year I upgraded from the ER to my own room upstairs. I slept over 2 nights.
When I was about 10 years old I slept through a car accident. We were on our way to Utah in our old Suburban when my mom hit a patch of ice that sent us spinning off the road and we eventually ended up on our sides. I had to be woken up to get out of the car.
I love it our here in St. Louis. I have spent many years telling people that even though I love the Cardinals, I would never want to live out here. But being here has changed my mind. I would love to live here someday and have season tickets to the Cardinals. And take my children to the games with me. And be apart of the great Cardinals organization

Welcome
So here it is.
Live from left field
I am not promising anything amazing. Don't come to me for politics or anything boring like that. I plan to write about anything and everything that peaks my interest.
Enjoy.
