Robbed

On my wonderful vacation to New York and D.C. (which I will post about soooon) I was robbed by a ghetto fab girl. Jake and I were in a rush to catch trains to meet up with one of my old roommates from BYU. We had to go back to her place to get our car keys that I left in her car the night before. We were rushing because we were trying to get out of the DC area as soon as possible to skip traffic on the way to Baltimore for the Ravens game. So I'm running into the train with my phone in my hand and we make it. I sit down and slip my phone into my purse in a semi outside pocket. All trip I had been super cautious about where my phone was in my purse. We spent a lot of time on crowded trains and I was weary of my stuff being snatched. Well this time I wasn't thinking. And quite frankly at this time I wanted it more accessible. All trip I was using a new purse that seemed to be a freaking never ending abyss. So I was constantly digging through my purse in a panic searching for my phone.

So we hopped off one train and proceeded to the escalator to catch the next one. It was super crowded on the escalator and we were crammed together. About halfway down I remembered my phone so I grabbed my purse to look and I see immediately that my phone is gone! Right at that moment a girl pushes past me and hops on a train about to close it's doors. I tell Jake and he says, yeah yeah it's in there somewhere. (Later I find out if I hadn't "cried wolf" so much that week, he would have believed me right away... Great) I say, no. That girl just stole my phone. I burst into tears. Allll my pictures from the trip were on that phone. So many fun photos and memories gone instantly. The next hour or so were super stressful trying to talk to unfriendly and in no way helpful transit security, trying to talk to Apple to get more iCloud storage so my pictures would be saved, (I have been getting a message the past few weeks that my storage is full and I need to delete things...) and trying to remember people's phone numbers off the top of my head to contact them on Jake's phone. Jake is a super saint for putting up with me this whole time. At any moment I could just burst into tears and when they started, it took awhile to stop. He's amazing. He was handling all the phone calls with Apple and the transit security. I don't know what I would have done without him!

We did the whole track my iPhone thingy and saw that in fact it had been stolen because it was at a residence. It wasn't just left on a train or dropped somewhere. So there's the end of that phone. Too bad. Because I had just placed a sweet NASCAR sticker on the back. Guess I'll have to get a new one!

This is us on our way up to Baltimore post phone issues.

So in the mean time contact me on my old number (971) 570-6252. Don't try and text my 503 number right now. I won't get it. Just phone calls. We have a prospect for someone wanting to trade phones so I might have a new one this Friday! Caaan't wait!
